Cuts to Department of Education

Using perforated silhouettes to symbolize marginalized communities impacted by federal cuts to education programs, I pushed for a sensitive, but creative photo illustration since News had not used the medium in a while. Our work received third place in JEANC's 2025 Annual Contest in newspaper front page design.

Palo Alto social, political divisions increase amid local, national events

Executing this graphic taught me to utilize color effectively and ensure diverse representation. Pursuing a complex molecular concept to illustrate increasing political pressures, we prioritized clarity and intuitive understanding for the reader.

Rythmic revelry: Riding the concert craze wave

In my first cycle on staff with Centerfold, we designed ticket-themed pull quotes and infographics to help bring cohesiveness to the page. Though the spread as a whole was intended to mirror a music poster, looking back, I wish we had been more intentional with the "decorative" placement of the stars.
